Your favorite awkward black girl, Issa Rae is launching an original, innovative audio drama, titled “Fruit.” The independent media creator conceived the project herself and she has made it available on Howl Premium subscription service.

Howl can be accessed by downloading the app on iOS, Android, as well as at howl.fm. The Midroll-owned platform, Howl,  has been called the “Netflix of Podcasts,” and it offers a wide range of audio programming options. You can try the platform out for free by participating in a free seven-day trial that will grant you access to the whole catalog, free of ads.

Fruit is a first-person narrative of a gay African American professional football star, known only as X. The audio series provides a look into the difficult and closeted lives that gay pro sports figures lead. Fruit is set to be released in February 2016. While we all wait patiently for Fruit, feel free to check out Howl, which is a pretty cool and innovative platform for media. Also if you have not done so already, please make sure to get your copy of Issa’s book, The Misadventures of Awkward Black Girl here.

In case you have not witnessed Issa’s dope show, The Misadventures of Awkward Black Girl, here ya go.

The show was so cool, that it caught the eye of super producer, Pharrell Williams who said that he also identified with being the awkward black kid growing up. He thought so much of the show, that he decided to feature it on his I AM OTHER, platform.

Please support this talented sister, trying to take Hollywood by storm.

She has THE JUICE!
